The Gearagh, Macroom, Co. Cork
Went for a drive along much of the Ring of Kerry today. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and my Canon 400D got a serious workout.
Blips, however, only come from my iPhone and I have plenty to choose from today. This one was taken late this evening on our way home after a nice dinner in Macroom.
The Gearagh is one of the most fascinating landscapes I have ever set eyes on. It is the remains of an ancient forest formed at the end of the last Ice Age and consists of a large area of submerged islands that are usually covered by the waters of the Lee Hydro-electrical scheme.
