Monday haircuts...

A frosty and bright day so took advantage of the weather to sort out 40 heifers ready to sell next week.They were in several different pens so it took a while to draw them into suitable lots ,then tidy them up by clipping their heads,backs and tails. Each different batch got a different coloured ear tag to make them easier to sort out up at the mart at Stirling.
Had them all done by 5pm,then another 2 1/2 hours doing the feeding and bedding that should have been done this afternoon. Made it in in time to catch the end of 'The Mart ' on BBC 1.
Also,when I went to shut the ducks in tonight,the young one from last year wasn't there. Presume something bad had happened to her. How come it is never the drakes? I'm down to 1 duck now and 6 drakes. Either a fox or a mink.
