Crisp and crunchy
We popped in to visit Rufus and his mum on our morning walk. Wee Rufus has a sore foot that he was hobbling around holding it up. Dogs - they're such a worry when they're sick!
It was a beautiful morning, so Archie and I went went for an off-the-lead (for both of us) stroll up the Hill. It was just lovely - crisp and crunchy underfoot, and any muddy patches were still frozen. This proved to be puzzling for Archie, because he couldn't grab any mouthfuls of mud to munch on.
He behaved perfectly, of course - not going too far away, keeping an eye on me at all times and racing back when I called. I was making slow progress - I was scared of slipping on the snowy ice.
He met Simon (see extra), a big black greyhound with long legs like sticks. Simon was ready for some fun, and they had a frolic. He also ran around after Buddy, a big shaggy Old English Sheepdog. We saw (and heard) two naughty dogs being put back on their leads because of some misdemeanour. I hope Archie took note.
Back home to make lunch for JR, who is still a-bed with sniffles and sneezes. Bailey and her mum called in. Bailey has recovered from her illness, and was full of beans. Last time she didn't want to play with Archie, but this time it was full-on silliness between them.
Watched the rugby in the afternoon. A good game. Then we watched Portillo at Niagara Falls. We've been there, a few years ago. Our lovely Toronto house swappers took us there. But we were too mean poor to go on the wee boat, let alone the helicopter ride. Looked fabulous fun. Next time.
