Father and Son
The Glasgow family arrived soaked to the skin at the same time as the worst of the sleet. They had been on two trains and a tram, much to the delight of Ewan who has developed an acute interest in trains and such like. He brought with him his railway magazines, but this is his Dad reading one of the Thomas the Tank Engine books I had bought for him.
While the weather deteriorated outside, we were warm and cosy, quietly supping soup, eating pizzas followed by cheese and biscuits and being entertained by Nina and Ewan in a floor show of sorts.
Thus did a day which in other circumstance might have been a very long boring one, become one filled with laughter and good cheer, thanks to the younger generation's winning ways- and weather improved in time for their departure!
I couldn't resist an extra image of the food prior to its decimation
