I have just finished listening to an audiobook of "The Big Short" by Michael Lewis about the US financial disaster in 2008, involving credit default swaps on sub-prime mortgage bonds. Sounds dull but it was fascinating. I have now started on his later book - "Boomerang - the Meltdown Tour" about the similar crises in various other countries. How stupid people can make a fortune and then, when it goes wrong, be bailed-out by Governments.
