Certified Seedlings

This is Laston our Farm boss, checking fruit tree seedlings on to the jeep of a World Vision employee.
It is amazing for the employees (all Malawian) of a tiny organisation to have achieved such quality of production that they have got 94% in their assessment and qualified for Certification my the Ministry
We have been budding, grafting, layering and all kinds of stuff for the past 8 years, beginning small then  growing and learning, sometimes the hard way!! to get to having about 21,000 improved variety seedlings this year.
They add new stuff all the time, but I think there are 29 varieties being produced at the moment. It is a huge undertaking from planning to the final product, but Laston is a serious man, extremely competent and self taught.
He is one of these people where evolution went into overdrive, with a great capacity to think and plan unusual talents in Malawi.
Not surprising then that MBC, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation did a programme on this project , aired recently on National Television.
