Celebrating 100th Blip - Kerelan Style!
Left Munar early morning after the longest wait for a cup of tea ever...Paul possibly used up two years worth of patience credits in the process ;-) but it was worth the wait as they did do very good tea!
Paul wanted to do an 'elephant ride' I was not convinced until we got to the eco-tour at Elephant Junction. We arrived as they were bathing and feeding one of the elephants and it was amazing. I gave in and did ride an elephant with the husband! It was amazing but did feel slightly wrong...my arguments of it being cruel were hopefully unfounded as they had a really lovely set up here.
After this detour we hit the road to the Backwaters - another interesting ride though tea, rubber tree and pineapple plantations. Lots of interesting things to see on the way; particularily the Hindu carnival when we arrived in Kottyam. As we pulled up to our jetty where our boat would meet us we were met by a stream of pilgrimagers following an elephant - they seem to be like buses here as you don't see any then two come along at the same time!!!
Settled into our accommodation here on Philip Kutty?s Farmhouse (very nice indeed) and decided we would do a spot of line fishing in the rain. Very relaxing here, nice people and very zen.
As we have been away travelling I have been back-blipping where we can which has meant that today is my 100th Blip...thanks so much for all the comments of support, I feel like I understand how my camera works at last and I have learnt so much all the blip enthusiasts!
