The Waves were Breaking Softly on the Beach
7.0C and mostly bright and sunny. Light Westerly breeze.
I had a look in the garage this morning and decided to take the dead lawnmower (in its box) with a few other things to the dump (recycle centre). I had to tip the back seats in my car forward a bit to get the box in the hatchback, so Maeve the Deerhound had to stay at home. It isn't very far to the dump. A small start to the garage clear out, but a start.
Mid morning Maeve and I got in the car and went through to Arbroath. No time for a harbour visit today.
Maeve and I went for a walk before lunch. Van Morrison on the Nano (Down the Road and Duets: Re-working the Catalogue). We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. The farmer was loading some grain from a barn into a large lorry as we passed. The track was muddy where the tractor has been going out to the field for ploughing.
We walked along the cycle path and went over the road bridge over the railway and down to the beach at Westhaven. The tide was about an hour short of its highest. The waves were breaking softly on the beach. We crossed back over the road bridge and carried on round in a loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home.
This afternoon an Electrician came and hopefully sorted out an intermittent fault with some of the little recessed spotlights in the upstairs bathroom. Later I had another look round the garage and took another load to the dump. The garage begins to have some space in it again. There is more to do ... another day.
