FC Halifax Town v Chester (postponed)

Drove over with a friend to watch Chester at Halifax today. The weather was awful on the M62 and watching the updates on Twitter it was clear the game would be called off. 

As we approached J23 the game was officially postponed so I quickly called up the Good Beer Guide app on my iPhone and we ended up at the Commercial in Slaithwaite. It proved be a smashing pub with eight real ales and, best of all, pork pie and mushy pies with mint sauce. 

After a pint we watched the closing stages of the Manchester City v Leicester game then found a couple of geocaches in Slaithwaite and headed home. Not a bad day under the circumstances.

We will be back for the re-arranged game on Tuesday although the weather forecast remains bad.
