Sugar cube box

We bought this pretty tin box in Dieppe last year. We have filled it with brown cane sugar cubes. It's decorative rather than practical as we don't take sugar in drinks. However it appears to be to the cats liking, as we found the lid open and the cubes on display . How many had they licked? Most have now been reassigned to the dustbin.
