A Widow

Our dear budgie Hedwig died today. It had suffered since xmas, as she had some serious digestive problems. Our vet did believe it was a food poisoning (after eating a new seedmixture containing rapeseeds, oat and flax with millet). The vet did think that millet is the only seeds that budgies can eat, others bring troubles for bird's liver.
The company, that sells the new budgie seeds, has a danish vet who says that all the ingredients of the mixture are ok for budgies.

Well. Apparently something did go wrong. We will never know.

Now we have a widow in the cage. He has been in shower today and I cave him parsley and a slice of orange too. He has been singing all evening.
