Never too cold
I had decided to change my network provider because a) I hardly get coverage in the house anyway and b) I don't like paying for 1000 texts and 500 minutes when I only use messaging and the landline for calls. I wanted a Pay As You Go package, and sent for a giffgaff sim. I spent an hour or so going round and round on their very confusing website, which is 'run by the community'... you cannot actually speak to anyone - there is nobody there!
They use the O2 network, so I popped down to the O2 shop to see if an actual person could advise me. Nope. They have nothing to do with them. So after a wander in the graveyard, I came home and stuck my old sim back in and topped it up for another month. Not worth the hassle.
I was able to wander off into town because Camila came to get Archie. And what a welcome she got. I knew she was arriving, so we stood at the window, and he went crazy when he saw her at the gate. When she came in he pinned her to the chair and tried to suffocate her with his wee hairy chest on her face. I hope she had moved her glasses to safety and it wasn't him!
It looks like it here, but he's not a face licker at all, which I like. (EDIT: after ForthPort's hilarious comment, I need to elaborate - I like that he doesn't lick faces). He's an enthusiastic hand washer, though.
When I arrived back from my fruitless visit to town, I decided that instead of going to the Silver Screen (free cuppa and biscuits!) I would go swimming!! Strike while the iron is hot. When I arrived at 1pm they said they were closing for staff training at 1:30pm. Ample time for me!
It wasn't too busy in the slow lane, and in fact at the end there were just two of us, so I kept going, with frequent stops at each end to gasp and splutter unsteam my goggles. And I did lots of dog paddling when not swimming. Half an hour was plenty time enough. But boy! Trying to get out of the pool after all that weightlessness is a bugger!
JR went to the gym when she came home, though she was delayed by the 'staff training' which lasted two hours. So far so good for both of us.
I'll now get the fire on and watch a daytime Aussie soapy serial we've cottoned on to, set just after WW2. And I think I'll just finish the last of my stash of 50p Magnums.
It was suggested to me that perhaps it's too cold for Magnums...
Never.
