Bamboo Shoot

This is a kind of snack food, with each piece coated with chocolate and made in the shape of a bamboo shoot. The naming of this is based on metaphor, as the name contains reference to 'a bamboo shoot.'

Interestingly this snack is sold in the US as well, but with a different name, 'Chococones.' This is probably because, in the US, bamboo shoots are not so familiar as here in Japan, where they are normally eaten as a vegetable.
