Approaching normality

I have to confess that this is not a terribly representative view of the house at the moment but it is quite a nice one, something to aspire to, anyway.

As per yesterday's Blip, we spent last evening unpacking, even employing the miniMinx to simply unwrap all the kitchen items that were in the storage boxes, but this morning there was no unpacking. Instead I caught up on a bit of work, before heading down to Avanti for a coffee with a friend...

... who didn't show up, so I spent an enjoyable hour with my book and a couple of Americanos before going 'round to the cottage to meet the letting agent for an inspection of the cottage. And that went pretty well, thankfully.

After that I did a work call, went for a run, and then picked up Dan and Abi for their first evening back in the house. I thought it might be a bit odd for them, coming home but finding home refashioned since they were last here at the start of the week. But they seemed absolutely fine - even if Abi was appalled by the lack of wifi - and we had pizzas together at the kitchen table before settling down for a game of Scrabble in front of the fire, which was lovely and, yes, homely.
