To Get Fired Up

I have tinkered around with wood burning stoves for many years.  I have had mixed results.

This morning I went to a lecture by an expert on wood and how to prepare and burn it properly.

When one was originally brought up in the days of coal fires it is surprisingly easy to get things wrong.

One of the major problems I encountered was having a damp chimney.  This was caused by using the primary air (from below) rather than the secondary air (from above)

Oh and you never try to make a woodburning stove burn overnight!
