Mexico - the old and the new

Today we had the choice between the old and the new- a visit to
Chichen Itza, the Mayan ruins, built around a thousand years ago. (See extra photo of a Mayan pyramid, temple to the snake god,)  or time spent soaking up the atmosphere and getting to know the local people in Cazumel?
 
M. opted for the ruins and the 5.30 am wake up call. So I gave him the camera and went back to sleep.
 
Later I took the more leisurely approach exploring Cozumel, an island off the main coast of Mexico.
 

Update on norovirus. This seems to have been “contained”.
