Australia Day 2016

We of course like that Australia Day is something that gets celebrated in Katie's life. Her nursery always had a special day for it and her school have a lunch for it. So she wore her Aussie bows, took the teachers caramello Koalas and chose an Aussie animal story to see if they could read it for story time. She was pleased that the teacher did in fact use it. 

She enjoyed Christian club today at school - they were thinking about making wise decisions. She said "I thought about when I had to decide if I wanted to go sleep at E's house... that was a big decision for me". 

Music lesson after school. She was a bit funny with it all tonight - she worked really hard in some respects but was a monkey in others. She learnt new things and loved that. The lesson had ended (she just about earned her lesson sticker!) and she decided she just HAD to show Barbara a recorder piece she's been working on. But the lesson ended in tears as she caught her head and just fell to pieces about it. She wouldn't say goodbye to B, which never happens. The door closed behind her and she immediately felt sorry for what had happened so ran up to the music room window, knocked at it and gave big waves & blew kisses. 

She was snuggled up in bed with a book very soon after we got home!
