Manatee Viewing
We woke up to rain, and it has rained most of the day. We had to be out of our Disney place at 11 a.m., so Merrick and I went swimming while the others cleaned the condo and loaded the van. We waited for the main pool to open, so Merrick could go down the slide. The two of us walked to the top, but only one of us took the fast ride down. HINT: It wasn't Merrick.
We had two highlights in the rain. 1. Another round of strawberry shortcake, and stopping in Apollo Beach to see the manatees.
There was a news report on the other night that estimated there were 600 manatees in this long bay. They are hard to photograph because they don't do much. Lisa compares them to floating logs.
Why do they migrate in the winter to this particular bay? Check out the photo in the extras. Florida Power and Light provides the heat.
