Village Queen

Our oldest resident Mrs G celebrates her 100th birthday tomorrow - she had a surprise at our local restaurant this evening when she was presented with an engraved medal and then crowned Queen of Schoenmakerskop!
She had received a congratulatory message from Queen Elizabeth, so it was only fitting that she wear a crown too!!
She has been joined by family from overseas and SA for her birthday and is thoroughly enjoying being spoilt!
She has been a resident of our village for 92 years! 
For many years she took charge of the distribution of the  morning newspaper which  was delivered to her house and we all collected our copies from a black bin under the tree in her garden, carefully monitored by her.
A truly lovely lady.
