Toddler Trees
My Bushcare group were given a small number of plants that would grow into large trees. I suggested we get young children to plant them as they will hopefully be around long enough to see them become mature.
This is Annabel planting a Blackbutt or Eucalyptus pilularis. It should grow into "a tall, stately tree 30-40m high, with a tall trunk and open spreading crown. Old individuals with immense stout trunks and spreading silver limbs can be a magnificent sight." (Les Robinson)
One of the things that motivates my involvement with recreating local bush is the concept of reflecting "what was into what will be".
