Preparing for...

...take off.

The bee climbed up the grass stem on the river bank and prepared for take off.  

Thoughts of an optimistic pessimist:
I've been looking forward all day to seeing Andy Murray carrying off the Men's Singles title at Wimbledon. (Hoping for the best.)
Having won the first set he'll probably play gallantly and with panache but still manage to lose. (Expecting the worst.)
