Entering Ennerdale

A two night wild camp has left me without the trappings of modern communication so for the first time I am back blipping. We walked into Ennerdale in the Lake District on Friday afternoon, with the intention of climbing the High Stile Range. This shot was taken just before the ascent.

We had to turn back after the wind speed increased to near gale force, causing us to miss our footing while still on the fell side. We knew there was no way we could afford to climb up onto the summit and start the ridge walk with the wind speeds we were experiencing.
