Bling Things, Central London

I work right in the centre of London on Bond Street. Over the years it has become more and more "bling". This covers not only shops, or should I say boutiques, selling gold handbags but art galleries and posh restaurants.
Strangely, walking past these establishments you often see more staff (and security) than customers! I do wonder how these places afford their astronomical rents when they nearly always seem empty.
