Light at the end of the Tunnel
This morning I had my radiotherapy CT planning scan in preparation for my next course of treatment. Luckily I can have this at the Sussex Cancer Centre here in Brighton and don't have to travel daily to Guildford, which is what had been suggested!
Anyway, I was lined up and sent through the scanner three times and then received three tattoos to mark the spot. This is so they can correctly line up the machine when I have my treatment. The tattoos are three black dots and as Jingly Jan said to me, I'm now a living dot to dot game lol! Fortunately they're very tiny and won't be visible to anyone else.
I was given my treatment schedule which is actually for four weeks, not three as I'd thought - it's every day commencing on 11th Feb with the last one being 9th March, so it's going to be pretty intense. I asked if it's possible to work throughout the treatment but the radiographer said it's a lot for my body to deal with after the chemotherapy and said I'll probably be tired, so unfortunately it looks like another month off 'sick'.
This afternoon I'm going to The Nuffield to have my bloods checked, as it's now two weeks since my final chemo and in all that time I've been suffering with nosebleeds. It's one of the side effects, but at least we can see what's going on and whether they need to do anything.
On a brighter note, we're going for a curry tonight and then to my friend Karen's 60th birthday drinks tonight. Oh and the film last night was brilliant, if you've not already seen it, I'd recommend it!
Today's blip of the CT scanner isn't particularly interesting, but it's for my own records.
