The Dolphin

...my birthday today.  I sort of prefer to forget them these days, but inwardly chuffed with the cards and 'happy birthdays' and pressies.  So today to Plymouth and to the Dolphin pub on the waterfront in the Barbican to have a pint or two with a couple of old friends from way back.  This is proper pub that focuses on the drinks rather than food (which is basic).  I love the original art nouveau front to the pub.  The pub was a favourite haunt of the artist Beryl Cook and features in several of her paintings.  The extra pic is also alcohol related, showing the iconic chimney of the Plymouth Gin distillery...
