Lake Elementaita

We flew overnight from Heathrow to Nairobi, (8 hours) for our Kenya safari holiday with Exodus Holidays. After meeting the others in our group of 12, we drove north over the Rift Valley to Lake Elementaita, the home of thousands of flamingos. However, as there had been heavy rain, the lake was no longer alkaline, and the flamingos had flown off! A local guide took us on a 3 hour nature walk pointing out lots of birds and plants.
We stayed in great hotel, dining outside with beautiful views down to the lake.
