The Old Cedarburg Mill.....
.....You can just see the edge of the old Mill to the left in the picture. It was built in 1855 on Cedar Creek, and at 5 stories was the tallest building in the surrounding area at that time. Cedar Creek flows through the center of the city of Cedarburg and this little falls, along with a small dam that was built further upstream back then (& which was removed many years ago) helped power the mill.
I met my sister here for a late breakfast and a little retail therapy this morning, & I had a feeling that the falls would be mostly frozen, so we strolled on over and sure enough, they looked beautifully icy! A bit nippy (15 degrees) to be out walking, but it was tolerable with our frequent stops in the shops!! :))
