The Past Catching Up

Today's photo is of an Artificer Apprentice guard outside HMS Fisgard gates with the Volunteer Band on the road behind.

HMS Fisgard, nicknamed "The College Of Knowledge" closed around thirty years ago. The photograph stirs mixed emotions; not having a 'traditional' education, I struggled academically to get through that first year.

At the same time I have been contacted, via social media, by two guys from that period in my life.

I didn't come out of my training with many friends that I wanted to remain in touch with just several that I keep loosely in touch with and a few that I remain on very good terms with and have regular contact with.
