Gate Post Mystery

Undeterred by the weather forcaste I joined a group of friends on a walk along the Horsley Jubilee Trail in Surrey. A bit muddy underfoot but the rain mostly stayed away and we even had a pleasant pub lunch sitting outside.

At a junction in the trail we spotted these rather ornate gate posts which have become almost lost in the undergrowth belonging to a property called 'Pigrims Heights'. a quick search of the internet failed to bring up any history so for the time being their origins remain a mystery to me.
