Flower Friday: Banksia Burdettii

Technically the last day of the holidays, cant believe it all went so quick!!

Flower Friday has been hot and dry and I waited until very late this afternoon for a walk with Toto. In the end we didnt go far as it was still hot and not pleasant.

This big banksia tree is covered in 'buds' with only this one huge flower beginning to open so far. Have a look at my extra to see what they look like on the other side of the tree before this metamorphosis! Banksia Burdettii is natural to only a very small area of Western Australia.
