Kingfisher(Alcedo atthis)

Got up and out of the house really early with my eldest son to see what time the Kingfisher gets up. Parked up and the light was amazing, really orangey sepia, but actually too dark as the sun was still very low. Heard her flute like whistle and there she was, she was on the first perch, Wadi dogs then ran out and she flew up into a Palm tree, at this point I thought we were not going to be lucky and she was too nervous. Luckily the dogs went and there she was again showing off her humming bird skills(see extras)and hovering looking for fish and then diving into the water and back on her favourite perch, all the while George was filming her, which is fantastic!
To say we had a magical early morning session with Kingy is an understatement! We will go back later today when the light is much better for bird photography and filming. Will try and capture the dive for a fish.
