Angry Striated Heron

This is one angry Striated Heron, another bird wants his fish and he turns from a quiet, shy fisherman into this! His neck extends out like a 'slinky' (coil toy), his wings spread and all his feathers bush out(please see this big!)He is not prepared to give up that little silver fish. I just managed to capture it as it was all over pretty quickly. You may wonder what has happened to our usual blue sky, well we have had very dense cloud cover for two days now, giving photographs this surreal white out look, fabulous for bird photography no fear of blown highlights and a very moody atmosphere. I can't wait to go and see Kingy much later on in the day and I'm thinking of making a little film with my eldest boy of her.
