Coffee artwork
A cheque arrived for my 'delay repay claim' from CrossCountry. It took them a couple of months, but the half hour delay from York was well worth it - almost got the whole fare back again!
A good start to the day, which was sunny and luring me out, even though I'm a bit stiff from yesterday's exertions. And so, by 11am, after my chores, I sat down briefly to contemplate a possible route (dogs, trees, sticks and running off the lead for Archie; coffee/scone/tasty titbit for me), and awoke again at 11.45. (The proverbial 40 winks).
Coats on (he wasn't keen), we walked along by the school and the screeching children, then round by the Meadows. There is a wee coffee shop I've often passed on the bus and looked into, and so I popped in to see if it was Archie friendly. It was very long and narrow, and I could barely see the chap away at the counter at the other end. I waited at the door and pointed to Archie, and I thought I saw a 'thumbs up'. Well, as we walked the length of the cafe, I hoped he'd given a 'thumbs up'. He had.
Nice place. Kind of head banging muzak, but the speakers at my end weren't on, thank goodness. The two girls at the next table made a big fuss of Archie - he even went through all his tricks for them. I did ask if he could sit on the seat briefly for a photo - his feet were still clean at this point. Look at the art work on my coffee! I think it might be a pig. Or maybe a bear...
Back through the Meadows on a perfect day. And those paws soon got very muddy.
A new potential dog borrower was going to pop in this afternoon to meet Archie. Except that I texted her the slightly wrong address while walking along and being distracted by Archie. *Ahem* So she's coming tomorrow.
Just finished the last two episodes of Mad Men. In way, it's a relief, but on the other hand I'm quite sad - we've been immersed in their lives for months now.
So if anyone wants to buy the complete box set (used once) - my email's on the 'About' page...
