2016 Wednesday -- James Dean Memorial Junction
This morning we drove away from the coast toward California's Central Valley. Our route included California Highway 46 just south of Cambria; we crossed over Highway 101 and kept driving east and then we turned south at the junction with Highway 33.
We knew that we were passing the junction where James Dean was killed in an auto accident back in 1955.
We were going to the community of Taft. My stepdad "Pops" lives there. We had a wonderful visit with him and his wife Sheri, and we all went out together for lunch. After a couple hours we needed to make our return trip back to the coastline and to check-in with our construction workers.
On our return trip we stopped to read the signs and to take photos of the billboards about James Dean.
