Renwick
I'm so glad the Renwick reopened after a two-year renovation job and that it opened with the most wonderful of exhibition, "Wonder", which has transformed the entire museum into a larger-than-life immersive piece of artwork.
Nine artists contributed site-specific installations and you can see some snippets in my extras. There was an indoors rainbow (main shot) made of thousands of colored threads; netting set to color on the ceiling of the largest room, which invites people to just lay down and enjoy the colors and movement; towers built from millions of index cards; structures made from thousands of tree saplings; a replica of an old hemlock tree made from 500,000 pieces of reclaimed cedar; geometric designs made from different species of insects; and a deluge of marbles that flow across the floor and onto walls. I love immersive exhibits: so engaging :)
