baby Robin
So I am home now, with bird book in hand, and have discovered that the "peep" I blipped a few days ago is not a young Flicker, but is indeed a juvenile Robin. It looks so uncommon for such a common bird! I easily recognize the adults, and even the nestlings, but this speckle breasted, striped back specimen does not look like the parents at all.
I guess birds go through the same awkward teenage stage that humans do.
