Up early and travelled through rain to the Longshore Estate just outside of Sheffield. By the time I was geared up the sun put in an appearance.

Although I have orienteered on foot in this area it was the first time I had competed on the bike. I had 3 hours to visit as many controls as I could with penalties for being late. My plan was to stay on the roads as much as possible and use the bridleways to pop in and out of the controls. Glad I did as the bridleways were quagmires.

Really enjoyed the ride apart from the last uphill into the wind!

Quite impressed that I was not as muddy as I thought I might be!
