Cheese!
The day started as usual with Archie rushing in at the alarm and leaping on to the bed... Except this time there was a loud CLUNK. He misjudged his leap, and for the first time, fell off.
Twenty nets of firewood arrived this morning. Thank goodness I was actually up and fully dressed.
I couldn't get my TV to mirror my iPad. Last night the TV was asking for a 'password'. I tried all the possible ones, to no avail. This morning my techie pal, Bailey's mum, said she'd come to the rescue. And what do you know - I was setting up the TV and iPad just before she arrived, and the TV gave me the code! And bingo! I was mirroring when J came in! The first episode of 'Spin' was watched on the TV - we seemed to have watched the second episode first last night. Excellent, especially as the gorgeous (but late) Pierre from Spiral is in it.
I worked up enough energy later to get the clippers out for Archie - I've been threatening it for ages. Then he really will love that tartan coat! He was always good at the groomers - he went three or four times - but he's never been a perfect sitter for me. Always fiddling, pawing at me, refusing to turn the other way, sitting down when I go near his rear end. So I added the arm to the grooming table and put the halter round his neck. What a change! He seemed to remember the deal. He stood still and let me groom him properly, including brushing and trimming his legs. And it's not that he's frightened, or in pain - he just knows that set up means no more mucking around. His eyebrows and ear edges will have to wait till he's snoozing on my lap later...
Mind you, it helped that JR was rusting around in the kitchen and he was listening intently. I don't know what would have happened had she suddenly chopped something - he goes crazy for chopping sounds! He loves cheese, apples and carrots. Here he is, newly groomed, standing for a bit of cheese. His little hind feet pitter patter around, trying to keep his balance, but he can hold it for ages.
I have been told that I am 'plumping' the cushions all wrong. I have just been punching 'em back into shape, but apparently you must shake them. I even looked it up on You Tube, and one woman does hers by chucking the big ones down on the floor, and pulling the corners of the smaller ones. Who knew cushions were so controversial?
If I win the £54 million Lottery draw tonight, I'll buy blipfoto...
