A good snake
There is a saying here, a good snake is a dead snake.
It's been a Zimbabwe day, the gardener was rushed to the clinic this morning, only to be rescued from there when there were no staff because they are on strike. He was taken to our doctor who gave him a rather hefty injection to relief his pain and told he either has hepatitis A or acute appendicitis. So we shall see what the morning brings.
Then, Dirk and I have spent the day on the phone and internet trying to sort various issues out that, in the UK wouldn't even have been issues. Sometimes, the lure of the ease of the UK is very strong. It looks like we're in for a fleeting trip to South Africa to sort at least one thing out.
This evening, just as I was about to take the maid home (the maid who, for some reason doesn't do washing up), there was a huge commotion in the garden and Dirk called me to come with the camera. He is clearly conditioned to finding any opportunity for photo of the day. A snake was found in the garden shed and four of the staff were hastily emptying the shed, I came along to find the snake being picked up on the end of a stick, rather dead, that makes it a good snake. No idea what type of snake it was, but I'd rather it was dead (now cremated on the fire) than slinking around the garden.
