Red Alert!

The answer to yesterday's question was a woodmouse
A much nicer day today - colder and sunny. I had a wander down to the river, taking my long lens for what I might find, and my macro for what I knew I would find. I'm glad I've got a reliable spot close by for a fungus that has to be in anyone's top ten - the Scarlet Elfcup. Can't think where it gets its name ;-)
The river was quite high, and extremely fast flowing, and very unusually, there were no Dippers to be seen. there were however, Long-tailed Tits, and 3 beautiful Goosanders. The Saxifrage and Lesser Celandine were starting to flower. Is this the earliest Spring ever, or perhaps it's the latest Autumn. Time will tell!
