Damage to Lamington Viaduct meant we had to take a coach from Lockerbie to Edinburgh on our return from Manchester. Fortunately the same middle-aged group who'd been so noisily drunk on the train we'd taken south on our way to Tenerife "tipped" the coach driver £10 to stop in Buckstone so we also got off and took an express bus home. Then came the usual rituals of coming home after time away.
