Sir Mo who?

Went to Holyrood Park to watch the cross-country, knowing it would be the only opportunity to see the world's best distance runner in the flesh. However, the class acts were Laura Muir (above) who, fresh from breaking the British indoor 5000 record on Wednesday, ran away from the field on the final lap of the relay; then the Turkish Ethiopian "Can" who won the women's individual race and, eventually, the gallant Callum Hawkins who almost won the men's race, with Sir Mo trailing in 7th. It was somewhat surreal to have world class athletes passing inches away from you as they negotiate muddy byways at the foot of Arthur's Seat.

To give myself a fitness test, I made a rapid walking ascent of the summit---coughing like a 60-a-day smoker.
