Car By Wall

I have not had much time for blipping the past few days because one of our friends at the apartment was in the hospital. It all started the other day with an ambulance ride from the apartments to the local hospital. Yesterday morning it was determined he needed to be transferred to Morelia, a city four hours away, to ensure the best possible care. That afternoon his daughter arrived in Zihuatanejo from Canada expecting to see him, so this morning we took off bright and early for the drive tho the big city hospital. Once we arrived, we found him to be recovering enough that he was subsequently discharged - after much waiting around and lots of conversation in two languages (plus a trip by me to a local car mechanic for a check engine light diagnosis). Rather than tackle the long drive back in darkness, which everyone warns you not to do, and with a slightly suspect vehicle we spent the night at our refuge hotel in Uruapan.
