Taking Off

Daughter and I managed to slip away to the estuary early this morning with our cameras. It was lovely there - the tide was well on its way in and birds were feeding. Unfortunately they weren't feeding close to the path  and I struggled to get a pic that wasn't too distant.

Returning back to the car we startled this heron and he took off on front of us. There was my blip.

What intrigued me was the reflection in the water of the birds left wing tip. It looked like a hand reaching out of the water.

I am very behind with the commenting  and will probably be so until the family leave in 6 days. But I am still looking at the entries when I get a moment to myself.
