Benmore Gallery at dusk
As local residents, as well as paid-up Friends of Benmore, we often enjoy walking in the gardens when they're officially closed, the understanding being that it's at our own risk and so on. Today we were far too late getting out, so that it was 3.45pm before we left our car; we fairly steamed up the hill to the Andean Refuge and managed most of the descent before it became seriously dark. We were passing the Gallery at the far end of the gardens when we noticed the rather pleasing light in the courtyard; it isn't a glamorous light at all, per se, just an everyday sodium job, but the gentle glow through the archway was attractive.
This was taken at about 4.30pm, and the camera hasn't really compensated for the gloom at all.
