More than enough

Encouraged by a picture in the Observer yesterday, we called in at Wet Sleddale to see if the dam really was overflowing at such a rate - it was! Quite spectacular.

The first extra picture is of the reservoir, currently looking very peaceful, but the mist over the hills shows that rain is still around and the debris on the banks is an indication of how high the water has been.
    
The second extra picture is the dam at a distance. The picture in the paper puzzled us, as it looks as if there is a walkway right in front of the overflow - there isn't! What the photographer did was to get someone to stand on that little bridge you can see on the right and then take the photo from a distance - trick photography!!
