Summer reading

Today's the day ............................ for a challenge

There's nothing like reading a good book is there? Something that takes you away to a private place where you can forget about what's going on in the real world. When I get to the end of a book that I have enjoyed - I feel a real sense of loss that it's all come to an end. I feel totally bereft until I get stuck into something else.

One of the supplements in the Sunday Times last weekend offered a selection of one hundred books that they considered would make good holiday reading. There were quite a few that sounded interesting and that's when I had my challenge idea. Why don't I work my way through the entire one hundred?!

So I'm starting today with the first one which is called The Beginner's Goodbye by Anne Tyler. It's going to take me longer than one summer - and I may run out of steam along the way - but I'll give it a go .............................
