Mesca

At last we got beyond Los Gigantes by leaving the girls in the hotel, taking a short boat ride to an inlet in the cliffs and then walking up a gorge to the idyllic village of Mesca. The walk was spectacular and fun, but contrast made it impossible to photograph. After mid-afternoon tapas we took a bus up and over to Santiago del Tiede, allowing me to take this photo of the view down on Mesca and the gorge (to the left). Another short bus ride put us within a 5km walk down to the hotel.

The girls had had a good day, swimming in the pools watching TV and buying lunch from Lidl. [Yes, we did ask if they wanted to come on the walk!]

For the last two days of the holiday we'll have a car, primarily to visit the volcanic area tomorrow.
