Volcano

Dropped the girls off at the Aqualand water park then drove up through the wonderful Tiede Park. Took the cable car from 2400m to 3500m, just 220m below the summit of El Tiede. Didn't have time (or a permit) to get to the top, but it was good to do the short walk to the viewpoint and back [see extra]. In truth the distant views were too hazy and flattened by the relative altitude [see extra]. Then it was back down, stopping to take photos at this attractive group of rock pillars. We arrived at Aqualand just as it closed, having kept in touch with the girls by text during the day. They had had a lot of fun, too and were happy to have spurned the captive dolphin show.
