Asparagus Aphid

Ryan Clark is working hard organising the New Year Plant Hunt. People are finding all sorts of plants in flower. Jazzy and I were going to see what we could find but it was pouring with rain.

As we walked through No1 aluminium glasshouse I noticed that the asparagus, which has gone to fern, has tiny flowers on it. They're followed by dinky red berries.

I picked a frond and took it indoors and that's when I spotted the aphid. I'm pleased, a flower without a bug is like a kiss without a hug. :)
